2015-2016 Tyler Heart Ball

2015-2016 Tyler Heart Ball

Saturday, February 20, 2016

The Tyler Heart Ball will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016! This elite black tie event features prominent members of the health, philanthropic and local business communities.

A Note From Our 2016 Tyler Heart Ball Chair, Alyssa Purselley-Hankins:

Little girls need their daddy, and I am so blessed to have
memories like the one in this picture. Some of my earliest
memories are filled with trips to and from the hospital for my
father. My father suffered from, as we referred to it as
children, “a sick heart,” or in my father’s case Coronary Artery
Disease. There have been several times I have been so scared
for my daddy in a waiting room, never knowing if that was
the last time we would smell the roses together. Without the
research and education funded by the American Heart
Association, my father would not have been here to make
many more memories with me.

I am blessed to have volunteered for this wonderful organization for many years and seen
the impact in my community. I now work in the Youth Market to help educate our youth and
how they too can help fight heart disease and stroke by helping those with “sick hearts” all
around us.

I am thrilled and humbled to have the opportunity to give back to the organization that
helped save my father’s life. I am chairing the 2016 Tyler Heart Ball on Saturday, February 20,
2016. The Tyler Heart Ball will be held at the Cascades Country Club and all proceeds will
benefit the American Heart Association.

If you cannot attend, I ask that you consider donating to our Open Your Heart campaign. Your
donation is 100% tax-deductible and it will help educate our most at-risk populations, build
lifesaving awareness, and fund cutting-edge research and technology. The money we raise
stays here in our local affiliate, and while it benefits those in the Tyler community affected by
heart disease and stroke every year, it also has a global impact.

Your generous contribution will allow a mom, a dad, a grandma or grandpa, to cherish
stopping to smell the roses with their little girl on a beautiful Saturday morning.

With heartfelt appreciation,
